#CalmComedyClub at 21Soho

#CalmComedyClub at 21Soho – 21st June 2021 

Last week we teamed up with mental health charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) to host the first live Calm Comedy Club at 21Soho to raise awareness and funding for the brilliant, and ever important work they do.  

Since April last year CALM have been getting us through the lockdown highs and lows with streamed gigs from the UK’s favourite comics and we were so proud to be able to help out with the live show.

Livestreamed by Laughing Around to an audience of over 2000 people, the line-up included Suzi Ruffell on MC duties, with sets from Sikisa, Mark Watson, Russell Kane, Norman Lovett, Joe Jacobs, Felicity Ward, Seann Walsh, Lily Phillips and Darren Harriott. 

Viewers were able to join the stream for free through Twitter and make a donation to CALM throughout the night. Donations poured in during and after the event, so while the final total is still climbing, so far over £1500 has been raised.  

"It was amazing to see everybody come together and enjoy themselves - from the comics to the audience, to everybody involved in the production, it felt like we were turning a corner to more positive times. And all whilst raising funds and awareness of CALM's lifesaving services, absolutely brilliant. 21Soho is a great little venue in a super location, and we thank them for all the support in making the CALM Comedy Club a success.
